테이블쏘를 사용할 때 흔히 밀대라 부르는 푸시 블록은 안전을 위해서도 필히 있어야 하는 도구입니다.

테이블쏘를 구매하면 딸려오는 기성품도 있긴 하지만(개인적으로 매우 위험하고 잘못 만든거라고 생각합니다) 각기 개성에 맞게 만들어 사용하죠.

하지만 부재를 얇게 몇 번만 켜고 나면 톱날 자국에 오래 사용하지 못합니다.

아래는 이런 단점을 보안하기 위해 교체형으로 사용할 수 있도록 만든 푸시 블록 입니다.

 

 

Improved Push Block

This push block is perfect for your table saw. It let's you push the narrowest of rips through the blade with complete safety. And when the base is used up, just slide another in it's place.

이 푸시 블록은 테이블 톱에 딱 맞습니다. 가장 좁은 리프를 완벽하게 안전하게 테이블쏘에 밀어 넣을 수 있습니다. 베이스를 다 썼을 때, 다른 베이스로 교체하면 됩니다.

 

 

 

Having a push block close at hand is always a smart move. I decided to take a little time to design one that fits the bill of comfort and long life.

푸시 블록을 가까이 두는 것은 항상 현명한 조치입니다. 저는 안락함과 오래 사용할 수 있는 디자인을 하기 위해 약간의 시간을 갖기로 결심했습니다.

 

 

 

I landed on a push block with two parts: a simple handle with a replaceable base.

저는 두 부분으로 된 푸시 블록을 생각했습니다. 교체 가능한 베이스가 있는 단순한 핸들입니다.

 

 

 

A sliding dovetail joins the two together. The groove is in the top of the base, and the dovetail is on the bottom of the handle, with a spot of hot glue to hold them together. To start, I made several replaceable bases and centered a dovetail groove in them (as shown in the drawing above).

도브테일이 그 둘을 결합합니다. 홈은 밑면 상단에 있고, 도브테일은 손잡이 바닥에 있으며, 그 둘을 붙이기 위해 접착제를 한 점만 찍습니다. 우선, 나는 몇 개의 교체 가능한 베이스를 만들고 그 베이스에 도브테일 홈을 중앙에 맞췄습니다(위의 그림 참조)

 

 

 

 

As you see above, the handle echoes the comfortable grip of a handsaw handle. Then I fashioned the handle.

위에서 본 것처럼 손잡이는 손잡이의 편안한 그립감을 반영합니다. 그리고 손잡이를 만들었습니다.

 

 

 

 

When it came to creating the dovetail, I snuck up on a perfect fit at the router table).
